Hello All!

We made it to the Golden State. Gwyn and I have been working in Silicon Valley with little adventures so far due to a miscommunication with time off to my contract. We’re hoping to change that in the next couple of months, taking more time off with the next contract signed.

Gwyn and I have enjoyed local places, like showing up to the local library for different classes and checking out bookstores during the weekends. The weather has been nicer than I expected, with us driving to Half Moon Bay for a day trip. The beach was nice. We got to see seals in the wild for the first time, watching them swim and “bounce” along the rocky formations on the beach. We met up with a friend that moved to the Bay Area a few years ago to walk along the beach and grab food at Sam’s Chowder House. We decided to take the food to go and have a nice little picnic on the beach while we enjoyed our dinner to end our day.

The weather has been between the mid 40’s at night to low 60’s during the day since we’ve been here from the beginning of work in November, and now January. It’s been very pleasant with little rain during their rainy season.

Rose and Holly are doing well and we’ll be celebrating their 15th birthday next month. I know for sure they’re enjoying this temperate weather. It hasn’t been too hot or too cold for them. They did however, have a dental appointment a week ago, and both girls had a tooth removed. Rose was okay after sleeping off the anesthesia, but Holly had to wear a small cone this last week. She definitely isn’t a fan of the cone, but the integrity of her jaw bone is diminished – so to prevent scratching out the stitches or accidentally breaking her jaw, we had to leave the cone on.

Over and out,

Whit
