Hello all!

Gwyn and I just finished up our contracts out in Rhode Island/Connecticut, and we’ll be beginning a new adventure soon.

We spent most weekends traveling all over Rhode Island heading to Providence for a night line dancing at a bar called Myrtle’s, Newport to see the Breaker Mansions, as well as visiting their famous seafood festival. We were invited to attend an art opening at the World’s Fair Gallery in Providence.

The state is so small we were able to visit many places in a short amount of time, then began exploring Connecticut as well as Massachusetts. We took time to drive to Mercy Brown’s grave after hearing about the vampire incident. Gwyn was driving by the graveyard almost daily to and from work. It’s out in Exeter and in the middle of her territory. If you guys don’t know the story, be sure to Google it. It’s wild (It includes exhuming a body and burning her heart and liver).

We spent many evenings biking along the bike paths throughout Rhode Island and Connecticut, at least until the time changed and it was dark before I was off work. Then we only had time to bike around on the weekends. If anyone gets a chance to bike around New England, be sure to. They have paved paths all around and it’s a nice way to enjoy the ocean and in the fall the foliage.

Gwyn actually found a Raleigh bike in a thrift store out near Warwick Rhode Island, and she took classes on Wednesday nights at a nonprofit called Recycle-A-Bike. She was able to upgrade and maintain the bicycle after the courses, and even volunteered on her off days to gain more experience with the mechanics.

Overall we loved Rhode Island, and I’m needing to spend more time on here expounding on our adventures.

Over and out,

Whit
